Fake Plastic Earth

This is a painting inspired by numerous works of Salvador Dali as well as the Radiohead track ‘Fake Plastic Trees’, creating a surrealist image of post-human period where everyday objects evolve into sentient and self-sustaining species. Acrylic on canvas.

Mysteriously, a month after making this, a massive flood hit the northern parts of India. This was in the June of 2013.
